In 1956, two brothers by the names of Heinz and Willi Heineking founded a haulage company called Gebrüder Heineking KG in Landesbergen near Hanover. What started as a general haulage operation was, over the next 20 years, to develop into a specialist logistics company for the flooring industry.
In 1967, the company moved into a brand new building in Brokeloher Straße, which provided the company’s fledgling flooring and accessories retail business with an opportunity for significant growth. By now, the two men at the top, who had overseen the first stage of the company’s voyage, now had their first million kilometres behind them!
Over time, Heineking began developing solutions that would meet the specialist logistics requirements of the flooring industry.
Today the Heineking Group also boasts several trading houses that specialise in home textiles and flooring.
